Remembrance Day 2023

The Shore Cadet Unit was honoured to participate in a Remembrance Day Chapel Service at Shore School on Saturday 11 November.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK CVO MC (Retired) and Lady Lynne Cosgrove.

A considerable number of ³ûÖ­ÊÓƵ Cadets volunteered to be a part of the honour guard and catafalque party. Accompanied by Sir Peter Cosgrove, CUO (Cadet Under Officer) Annabelle, the Senior Under Officer of the Shore Cadet Unit, conducted an inspection of the honour guard. Sir Cosgrove complimented all Cadets on their professional conduct and exceptional uniform standards.

Following the formalities, it was pleasing to see the Cadets converse with Sir Peter Cosgrove regarding their time in the Cadet movement. All ³ûÖ­ÊÓƵ and Shore Cadets contributed greatly to making the day a moving and memorable occasion.

Additionally, ³ûÖ­ÊÓƵ held its own reflective Remembrance Day Service at the Principal’s Assembly on Tuesday, an occasion to commemorate the servicemen and women who have died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts and to show our appreciation for their sacrifice.

The service was led by Senior ³ûÖ­ÊÓƵ Cadets, including a student address from CUO Jessica, the Adjutant of the Shore Cadet Unit, and a catafalque party commandeered by CSM (Company Sergeant Major) Nina.
